A new Club, where jobseekers can get advice and support on finding work is being launched in the All Saints Community Centre, located in Stanley Street, South Shields.
The Club will give people in Shields the chance to meet others looking for work, build new contacts, share job hunting experiences and get advice on interview techniques, CVs and even volunteering opportunities.
Jason Meiers, who set up the All Saints CA Job Club funded by Big Lottery said: “Research shows that the best way to find employment is through friends, family or social networks, which is why it is so vital to have a Job Club in this area. We have gone a step further in employing advisers from Can Do Communities and they will be on hand to provide 1-1 specialist help for people looking for any level of employment or training’’
“During every session, the advisors will be on hand to assist attendees, searching on internet, making calls to employers and helping with applications.
The Job Club will be held at the All Saints Community Centre, Stanley Street, South Shields. It opens its doors on April 20th and is running every Wednesday 10am-2pm until mid-June.
